HAGGIS ADVENTURES: LOCH NESS & THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS

Scotland!!! What can I say…love it!! Scotland is an amazing country and I am in love! I booked the 7 day Coast to Coast tour with Haggis Adventures! I got to see the Orkney Islands, Glencoe, Loch Ness, Jacobite Steam Train (Hogwarts Express), Oban and many other destinations. If you haven’t already go check out my review post about my tour with Haggis Adventures!! I go into detail of all the information you need to know about the 7 day Coast to Coast tour and what it’s like travelling with Haggis Adventures!!!.

I travelled to Scotland in summer and let me tell you, I got the best weather and it really made the trip a whole lot better. Our tour guide Duncan said he hadn’t seen weather like this in a long time!! We didn’t get any rain the whole week long and that meant we got to make some stops that wouldn’t normally be in the tour! We stopped at a beach for an hour or so and near Loch Lochy! The view was amazing across the water and looking at the mountains.

I thought of an amazing idea to remember places and little towns that I visited. On Google Maps you can save places on the map, it makes it so much easier when going back and trying to figure out what the place was called? and where was that place?!!!

My tour started in Edinburgh where I hopped on a bus and we left the city behind. We made our way to Loch Ness, our first stop was a quick stop in a little town called Dunkeld. Below are some photos of a really cute dog that we saw!!. We also made a quick stop at the Welcome to the Highlands sign!!

We made a lunch stop in Aviemore, our guide told us that this town is known for skiing in the winter!!. After we were full from food, it was time to hit up the Tomatin Whisky Distillery!!! I was so excited to go to the distillery, as I have never been to one before!! The guide told us that most of the staff live and work at the property, which makes it feel more like a community and everybody helps each other. I thought that was amazing!!!

Next stop of the day was Culloden Battlefield, which is where The Battle of Culloden took place. It was the final confrontation of the Jacobite rising of 1745. If you are a fan of the TV series Outlander, then you will recognise Culloden Battlefield in the photos below.

The last stop before we got to Loch Ness was at Clava Cairn, it is a type of Bronze Age circular chamber tomb cairn, named after the group of three cairns at Balnuaran of Clava, to the east of Inverness in Scotland.

Teleporting Rock from Outlander (I haven’t see the series, but was told its from the show)

Once we arrived at Morag’s Lodge, it was time to have some dinner (Chicken stuffed with Haggis) and then check out the banks of Loch Ness before a sunset boat cruise. My dinner was really yum but haggis is a really strong taste and I couldn’t eat everything.

Tonight was the big night, the first night of the trip and Trivia at Morag’s Lodge. It was such a fun night full of Rekorderlig Strawberry and Lime Cider, Tartan Toga Party, Trivia and other games. The best dressed had to walk down the catwalk and strut their stuff to win a prize!! We lost trivia, but it was such a great night being able to meet everybody else on the tour.

IF YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE ALL THIS AND MORE, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CHECKING OUT THE 7 DAY TOUR I DID IN SCOTLAND WITH TOURRADAR
